Cortland Competition Rod
This is your rod for European-style nymphing. Built from high-modulus, ultra-sensitive graphite blanks, the Competition rods are weighted toward the butt to help maintain the optimum 45-degree angle without tiring your wrist. The matte black finish helps dampen vibration to prevent shock waves when presenting the fly. The black, single-foot guides are oversized to ease leader knot transfers for fishing short distances. The thin handle boasts an ergonomic taper that allows an angler to touch a finger against the blank for strike detection. These 4-piece rods include hook keepers and fighting butts with hard cork bottoms.
Features of the Competition Rod: • Graphite blank construction
• Matte black finish helps dampen vibration
• Fighting butts with hard cork bottoms
• Cloth Rod Sock & Optic Orange Rod Case included
Cortland’s Product Warranty
This warranty is valid unless otherwise stated on the product: All products manufactured and/or distributed by Cortland Line Co are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship. Any such product found defective within 1 year from date of purchase should be returned, with proof of purchase from the original owner. Warranties do not cover damages due to fire, theft, loss, or incidental damages resulting from use of the product.
Cortland rods must be registered within 30 days of the date of purchase in order to be eligible for Limited Lifetime Warranty. Warranties against defect in materials or workmanship are limited to the lifetime of the original registered owner of the product.
Cortland reserves the right to repair or replace warrantied products with similar products from time to time as products do change. Replaced components may differ in color or other cosmetic features. All products must be purchased from an authorized Cortland retailer to be eligible. Laws vary from state to state and you may have additional rights.
Service and repairs
To repair or replace a registered Cortland rod, there will be a $50 fee for any damage that is not directly related to manufacturing defect when product was purchased. All rods will be inspected by our repair department to determine the cause of breakage. A damaged rod should be placed in its rod protecting sock and tube prior to shipment. Do not send your rod in a custom rod tube. A properly packed standard cardboard protective tube is the best method of shipment to protect it from further damage. We highly recommend that you insure and track all shipments to Cortland.
Other Cortland products that are covered under warranty of materials or workmanship defects must either be registered with Cortland or provide a proof of purchase dated within one year. This warranty is not intended to cover normal wear and tear of products during their intended use.
