They will last you forever, the blade is replaceable. All upside, no downside. The Able nippers are far and away the best.

Near Perfect Set Of Nippers

Very good experience - these are very nice and durable. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. These things will cleanly slice through 40lbs test mono like butter. My only relatively minor dislike is the hook eye cleaner built into the jaws (the placement is annoying and I never use it bc I have a better on on my Dr. Slick forceps) - otherwise would be 5 stars.
