Scientific Anglers Amplitude Trout Fly Line
The Amplitude Trout features the revolutionary AST Plus technology. It's microtextured surface traps air to provide superior shootability and flotation while also eliminating line flash and vastly reducing friction. Floating texture on the tip section allows for the ultimate in flotation. The result is less drag and water spray as well as easier casting with dry flies, nymphs and streamers.
- Revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive for superior shooting ability and increased durability
- Floating texture on the tip section to increase flotation
- Shooting Texture running line to deliver long casts
- Revised compound taper for delicate deliveries
- Excels in medium-to-long distances with dry flies and smaller nymphs and & streamers
- Designed specifically for chasing trout
- Braided multifilament core
AST Plus slickness additive provides 40% less drag than lines without any additive and lasts over 60% longer than lines from the competition. Lines are smooth, triple-colored and have front and rear welded loops.

Amplitude
Linea fantastica! La migliore!

The best of the best
I know Rio lines are popular these days, but my experience is that the people at SA have the best materials science and their lines are the best. This line, within the SA lineup is the top tier, basically the best of the best and is the line I use exclusively when pursuing trout on 4-6wt rods on everything from spring creeks to freestone to tailwaters. You can’t do better than this in a fly line. Highly recommended.

SA Trout
Great Line for fishing a variety of fly types from small dries to light indicator rigs. It can hit distances when you need it to as well.

Great line for dries and smaller nymphs
Great line. Well suited for dries, smaller nymphs, dry/dropper rigs, and smaller indicators. I'd suggest the SA MPX or Andro for larger(heavier) nymphs, streamers, indicators.

Best In Class
Best dry fly line on the market. The texture is excellent and allows for greater grip and better shooting. It can certainly be used for heavier nymphs and streamers but I'd use the Infinity for those rigs.

Can’t wait. Opening Day is only 2 months away!

Line for G Loomis NRX+LP
Exceptional.

one of the best fly floating lines
it worth the money.

Great line but super noisy
Line has a great weight, floats well, color markings are useful. But the texture makes it quite loud when it slides through the guides on my rod, to the point that it’s distracting. Probably wouldn’t buy again.
