Yeah, it roll casts

This line is great for limited space behind you. Get the 30ft head out & 30-50ft roll casts are easy & accurate. In fact, it's better to roll cast this line at <30ft & it remains deadly accurate. I've had this line for over a year & just now realize how good it is for this job. Once you get well beyond it's taper, the line loses a lot of power for this cast, but within that range, it is powerful. As for Overhand casting, get the 30ft head out & you can cast it 90ft easily on an 8 weight. This is a powerful line. This helps when there is a bunch of trees behind you as it minimizes the amount of line you need to really launch it, especially double-hauling; it's not the best shooting line but it is easy to get distance here. This line is phenomenal for that those jobs. If you are constantly overhand casting & shooting line, it can wear you out as it's so heavy. But if you need a line that can catapult 30-90ft with minimal to no false casts, this works well, like, really well.

Rigid line

This line roll casts very well and is great for short distances. While the Royal Wulff website mentions that it can be scandi cast, I find that it performs better with a sustained anchor skagit cast. In terms of spey casting, you're better off thinking of this as a tapered skagit. It does overhead cast well also, which makes it great for switch rods. The only negative thing about it is that the head feels rather rigid and is prone to memory. (I have the 9.5wt; this may not be the case in lighter line weights).
