Awesome Fast Action Rod
I own multiple Sage Sonics- a 9' 4 weight, 9' 5 weight and 9' 6 weight. Each have their own character and excel a little bit at different things. The 9'4 weight is a great nymphing rod- the lighter weight and thinner blank make it very sensitive. The 9' 5 weight is probably the best hopper-dropper fly rod I own. The fast, punchy action make it great for turning over a big foam dry. The 9' 6 weight is a do everything rod, from weighted tandem nymphs, to dry droppers, to streamers. It is a great rod for colder weather and bigger flies. Overall I can't praise the Sage Sonic enough. It is a true fast action, western rod that is wildly versatile across multiple models. Paired with a SA Infinity or similar half-heavy line this rod come alive.

Sage Sonic 6wt 9ft
I just purchased this rod. The customer experience was excellent. Bryce was very knowledgeable and helped me make a solid choice! I got this rod to focus on the coastal salts of Puget Sound. I've taken this rod out once and it, Sage deliverers as always. Love the fast action. Thanks

9' 6wt Sonic - Exceptional rod - accurate in close and able to reach out 75+ with ease
Tried the 6 and 7 wt, both very nice rods but the 6 wt suited my usage better. I was looking for a rod that could double as my practice rod for the FFI Casting Instructor's certification. Needed a rod that was pin-point accurate in close and still able to hit a target at 75 ft. Not a lot of rods can do both well. This one can! Very similar action to the Scott Centric but manged to save $400 with the Sonic which makes me happy. Stillwater was great in returning the 7 wt Sonic I tested and making this transaction easy. Great job folks, will buy from you again.

Fun, versatile 7 wt rod for inshore and lake fishing
I picked up a 7wt Sonic to add to my lake and inshore arsenal. The Sonic is a relatively light, moderately fast rod. I bought it primarily to cast clousers, streamers and weighted streamers. With SA Amplified Grand Slam, I found the Sonic handled all very well. An easy caster, the rod loads easy, and shoots line with limited effort. In an inshore wind, it casts well both down wind and cross wind. Into the wind, especially a gusting wind, was a challenge. With fish on, the rod had the backbone to put some pressure on a running red or a diving lake striper. All-in-all, this is a fun rod and a rod you can cast all day long. I'm very pleased!

Sage Sonic 6wt - zipping hoppers!
Outstanding value in a fast, easy casting, ultralight rod. Only had it out once, nice tight loops and able to mend at distance. Sweet spot is 40’ and out. More than fine closer in and good sensitivity. Can cast this rod all day. Great folks at Stillwater helped me make an excellent decision based on my needs, thanks guys!
