Echo Stillwater Fly Rod

The new Stillwater series is sure to impress even the most seasoned of competition pros with its unbelievable light weight and responsiveness. It will keep you casting sinking lines all day with ease.

Consider your local stillwater fly fishing options. As rivers become increasingly more crowded and exotic destinations less remote, anglers are staying closer to home. Conventional fly rods are a poor substitute for a precisely developed stillwater rod. These new rods were designed to get anglers fishing more effectively and efficiently in lakes of all sizes.

Pete Erickson, stillwater fishing expert, helped to fine-tune this unique rod series with its medium fast action and subtle delicacy rarely found in lake rods. Four sizes include a 10ft 5wt, 10ft 6wt, 10ft 7wt, and even a 10.6ft 6wt. The 10 footers cover the gamut of fish sizes while also masterfully handling any stillwater line on the market. The rods feature low vis grey matte finish and black single foot guides. A custom designed cork handle provides versatility and comfort. The reel seat has a removable fighting butt and comes with weight rings. Each rod comes with a custom fiberglass rod tube.

High Quality rod

It's my most expensive rod in my closet, so I may be slightly biased, but everything about this rod screams quality. Love the removeable fighting butt with weighted washers to really dial in the balance point on the rod/reel, super nice touch there that I wish every rod had. Also like the integrated hook keeper in the reel seat better than a standard hook keeper. Alignment dots, check. Nice aluminum rod tube, check. Cork grip is about average though. What makes this rod stand apart from my other 10' rods is the swing weight. It's super light and compared to my other rods that are heavier and relatively tip heavy, this one feels lively and makes high-stick nymphing a breeze. Haven't had it on the water yet, but casting on the lawn is great and the moderate/fast action is similar to what other brands like TFO call "moderate/fast." Butt section is beefy and looks like it will have plenty of power for steelhead.
